We don't make films simply to make films.
We tell stories because stories have the power to reach people in ways that words alone sometimes cannot. They can make us feel something. They can remind us of someone we love, something we've lost, a struggle we've faced, or a question we've been afraid to ask.
And sometimes, a story can make someone stop and say:
"I never thought of it that way."
That moment is why we exist.
OUR MISSION
The mission of the 1615 Project is to tell honest, cinematic stories rooted in faith, humanity, hope, forgiveness, and redemption.
We aren't interested in preaching at an audience. We want to meet people where they are.
Through characters and situations that feel real, we want people to recognize pieces of themselves—their doubts, their pain, their relationships, their mistakes, their questions, and their search for something more.
Our Catholic faith is at the heart of what we create, but the story always comes first.
Because when a story genuinely moves someone, it can open a door.
A door to a conversation.
A door to forgiveness.
A door to hope.
And sometimes, a door back to God.
WHY WE DO IT
For us, filmmaking is the craft—not the mission.
The mission is what happens because of the film.
It's the conversation on the drive home.
It's the person who sees their own life differently.
It's someone realizing they're not alone.
It's someone who hasn't thought about God in years suddenly thinking about Him again.
If one of our films creates that moment, then we've accomplished something far greater than simply making a movie.

BEHIND THE STORIES
Patrick Rivera is a filmmaker and storyteller with more than 35 years of experience creating films, documentaries, television, music videos, and commercial productions.
But experience isn't what drives his work today.
Patrick believes the most powerful stories aren't necessarily the biggest—they're the ones that make us feel something. Through the 1615 Project, he brings together his decades of filmmaking experience and his Catholic faith to tell honest, human stories designed to reach people where they are.
For Patrick, filmmaking is the craft. Reaching people is the purpose.
